This site is dedicated to the memory of Philip Marriott.

Philip, known affectionately as ‘Bob’, grew up in Market Harborough, Leicestershire, with his sisters Beccy and Emily, and his parents Ceri and Richard. A talented mathematician and footballer as a young lad, and a very good cook, Philip always had an interest in music, which became a passion when he was bought his first electric guitar as a present at the age of 13. He spent many hours teaching himself his favourite songs (by Metallica, Green Day etc.) using tabs from the internet. Although Philip enjoyed playing guitar and the drums, as his interest in music developed, his main passion became recording and producing music. Philip did not study music at GCSE but decided to study Music Technology as one of his A level choices and later studied for a BTEC diploma in Sound Engineering at Leicester College. However, his interest went far beyond the structured tuition of these courses. He pursued his passion for recording / production at home, in his own time, turning his bedroom into a recording studio, complete with mixing desk, full drum kit, microphones and stands. Here, using many self-taught skills, Philip recorded and mixed several live bands (Until I die, Round 2, Aversion etc.) in what had become known as ‘Bob’s Studios’. Philip moved to Leicester in 2008 where he shared a house with friends. He worked at Poundworld until August 2010 when he left to take up a place on a foundation course in Engineering at university. A selfless, kind-hearted and gentle young man with a wicked sense of humour, Philip was a very popular person. He is, and always will be, greatly missed by his family and friends. His mother, Ceri Marriott told us: "We know how much music meant to Philip and we can think of no more fitting tribute to him than to support Youth Music in their extremely valuable work, using music to transform lives as it did Philip’s."
